Riccardo Tisci designs for the ballet Boléro

Creative Director of Givenchy Riccardo Tisci has stepped out of his prestigious fashion label to work on his very own first solo project. Working alongside the atelier of the Palais Garnier for the world renowned Opéra National de Paris, this project has brought personal and creative inspiration to create costumes for the ballet, Boléro.

Sourcing from his Italian heritage and great creative mind, Riccardo brings to life the intensity of the ballet Boléro de Ravel. Gathering research and understanding his muses of the unique and talented group he would be working with, Riccardo took into account the choreography, composition, music and set design. Obviously being his designs, he has communicated his artistic view within the pieces. Known for romanticism and his beauty to create, Riccardo makes an idyllic balance with his inspirations.

Nudes and sheer fabric allow the dancers to move, but appear to be in their natural form or naked. These sensational costumes that have been created to conform to the movement and light of the stage production have definitely been a project Riccardo Tisci was ready for.
