Joan Martorello, Autumn / Winter 2013
Joan Martorello is a new Argentinian brand. In his Autumn / Winter 2013 collection titled ‘Manada’, the designer goes for what he calls ‘a futuristic port environment inspired by the first great Italian, Spanish and English immigration in Argentina in the 19th century’. This vibe gives an opportunity to show some lost professions, such as handmade matressing, challenging tailoring with unfinished completions or applying thick seams. At this point, Joan pays special attention to fusing sports items with tailoring, through grungey textures combined with the fine materials.
