London-born Martine Rose has showcased a variation of urban Jamaica in her Autumn / Winter 2013 collection. The designer took inspiration from the life-codes of the Rasta community (jackets made in the colours of the Ethiopian flag; red, gold and green). From the Rastafarians’ desire to live in harmony with nature came an emphasis on garments made from natural fabrics (the presentation was supported by the organic footwear brand Bates). The trademark pieces of the collection are shirts as well as sweatshirts and hoodies so important to ghetto culture.

The collection was showcased in a new, innovative way this season. The live presentation focused on form and structure of the clothes and was constantly in movement.
