There aren’t many female fashion designers doing menswear. Sissi Goetze is gladly one of the few. The Central Saint Martins-trained German designer, who drew everybody’s attention after showing her almost surgical all-white and all-shirting graduate collection at London Fashion Week in 2010, has become a name to watch in the Berlin fashion scene.

For her AW13 collection, Goetze showed 12 complete looks challenging the fine balance between formal and sportswear. Refined coats, structured woollen trousers and jockey hats appeared in shades of grey, blue, bordeaux and black. Smooth, solid and disciplined, Sisis Goetze’s collection is a silent ode to masculine comfort and elegance.
