Taking inspiration from the sea, with flecks of coral and floating chiffon, Vita Gottlieb’s collection at Fashion Scout was an eclectic mix between wearable and conceptual. Chiffon, patchwork and print are the three main elements of the collection that stand out, taking the audience from the airy forests with ethereal fern prints to the ocean deep where coral grows and clothes are torn.
Ripples of fabric that are gathered and layered resemble mythical sea creatures, giving the models an aura that seems almost otherworldly. Key prints were created from the dreamy illustrations of botanical illustrator Ernst Haeckel and juxtaposed against dark black blocks that took over garments.
