At the age of 19, designer Simon Porte Jacquemus started his own label. Born in Salon de Provence in Southeastern France, the self-taught designer worked his way up on his own, and now has his own studio. On the outside, the designer creates pieces that are bold, oversized, and graphic. They demand attention by street style photographers when worn outside fashion shows. Once you look closely, you can see that the designer is obsessed with nostalgia, childlessness, and the art of storytelling through clothes. It’s refreshing to see a designer from Paris showcase clothes that are unpolished, abstract, and rough around the edges. No wonder LVMH took notice.
