On the 9th and penultimate day of Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam Caribbean Fashion Spot, MAYN, House of Byfield, Jonathan Christoper and Spiikers en Spiikers showcased their collections on the catwalk. Meanwhile, Zalando presents 10 days Downtown exhibited ‘Matisse et la Mode’ took place in the Stedelijke Museum.

Caribbean Fashion Spot gave guests a taste of the Carribean vibe. Fashion designers Atelier Doré, Beatrix Rodriquez, Charu Lochan Das, Gigliola Designs, Heather Jones International and Ms. Ray shared their vision on Carribean fashion.

Amsterdam-based fashion brand MAYN‘s show was hosted by Vodafone Fashion LAB in the Transformatorhuis. It showed a fusion of architecture and clothing by incorporating architectural components in the designs.

Carmichael Byfield presented his collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York in February. This week he was in Amsterdam presenting Make-up Studio presents House of Byfield, a collection that encourages men to dress sporty yet with an edge.

Jonathan Christoper‘s S/S 2016 collection hosted by Vodafone Fashion Lab Pro was filled with contradictions. These surprising combinations inspired the audience.

Colour and graphic design were central to Dutch twins, Truus and Riet, at their L’Oréal Professionnel presents SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers catwalk show.

There was a fusion of fashion and art during ‘Matisse et la Mode in the Stedelijke Museum. Liselore Frowijn showcased her collection in combination with the extraordinary art collection of Henri Matisse. This created a beautiful interaction between fashion and art. The influence Matisse had on art and fashion was highlighted by an interview between Liselore Frowijn, fashion journalist NRC Milou van Rossum  and curator of the Stedelijke Museum Bart Rutten, which led to interesting perspectives on the artist.
