Catarina Sequeira is the designer and creative mind behind SAYMYNAME. In this collection, analysing what gender represents today in our culture and society is key – people are asking questions about the hot topic, and Catarina is included. She takes influence from three artists, but it is Canadian surrealist Sascha Brauning whose work is most relatable. The lines and shapes in her work are uncannily similar to that of this collection, which force the viewer to confront them and the questions raised about gender identity. The 3D geometric prints in matching colours contrast the minimal black and white designs. This is a powerful spring / summer 2016 collection with a strong concept.
