Last week marked the il TAVOLO Food Festival 2014 ‘Zurich at the Table’ with 2’835 attending guests. Six luxury hotels were part of the event, which streched over five days and many courses at long tables. DASH was lucky enough to debauch on the ‘Star Night’ at Park Hyatt Zurich’s  restaurant parkhuus.

After an outdoor appetiser on the restaurant’s outside veranda, the ‘Show & Tell’ event featured the skills of Hyatt’s Executive Chef Frank Widmer, who had gained experience in various restaurants and hotels in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, the US, Qatar and Kuwait before arranging for us an exquisite, not just culinary, but also interactive and musical evening: Together with saxophonist AL Stonehouse, DJ Leon el Ray cared for a sensual musical arrangement throughout the night, while we were given insights into what was going on behind the scenes: a symphony of movements and temperatures in order to provide several courses for over 100 guests.

We had the pleasure of meeting Klaus-D. Lenser of Gour-Med and be sat vis-à-vis from the beautiful Zoe Torinesi of Cookinesi. We got to speak to the Chef in person as well as his partner on the night, Executive Chef Alexander Moser, who flew in from the Hyatt Regency Istanbul especially for the night.

The emphasis on distinctive flavours and exceptional quality made this meal exceptional and the evening much enjoyable. Thanks goes out to PR/TICULAR.
