This particular Autumn/Winter 2016 collection by Songzio called for a painted approach to the new colours of the season. Red, black and blue appeared scraped over lambskin leather in some places – and others, as significant woven counterparts to voluminous pants and structured jackets. With pleated trousers and outerwear aside, a rather loose and relaxed approach has been taken this season, punctuating the air at Men’s Paris Fashion Week that had already been filled with far too many of the same navy and olive green hues. And although Songzio’s Autumn/Winter 2016 options lacked a range of colour in an otherwise saturated season, I can’t help but experience an immense attraction to its realism and accessibility as well as the smart contrasting pops of colour when it was used.
