Nino Chubinishvili A.K.A. Chubika is known for her eclectic designs that bridge the gap of art and fashion. “My designs are where fashion crosses art. It’s more than fashion and not total art. I believe in the idea of expression, the expression of divinity in different forms, languages and creations.”

Chubika studied at de la Mode IFM: fashion, sculptural installations, stage and exhibition design, has kept a successful track record of collaborations with fashion icons like Pierre Cardin and furthermore interned at Kenzo.

Putting the focus on this season’s collection ‘Ingredients’, shown during Georgia’s Tbilisi Fashion Week, Chubika explains that “The idea to work on this collection was born in absolute quietude and tranquility, when you can listen to the universe and yourself and at the same time observe the icon with costumes, words, colours, shapes – all born within yourself.” At present, the designer has found her inner island, where all the Ingredients of her self are reflected. This is the point where the influences cross: “All the ingredients blend together and create an identity for me – the wholeness present in myself.”

Chubika’s views are intriguing, amusing and exciting. She states, “Just like Nôtre Dame de Paris is the Christian symbol – expression of the divine through architecture – a beautiful wooden wardrobe, a bracelet, dress or even a clutch is the translation of the same force into a different language by its creator.”
