Dalood is a Georgian designer who began a cult boutique in Moscow commercialising newcomer Georgian designers that has now evolved into a coveted ready-to-wear brand know for its post-Soviet fashion market. The founder and creative director Maka Kvitsiani believes, “the simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” At Tbilisi Fashion Week in Georgia Dalood’s design team’s passion about detail and impeccable needlework was visible on a selection of pieces that came in an array of black, white, green and yellow wools, tweed, leather and denim.

One of the many inspirations was a Vogue editorial featuring Kate Moss. The rarity of its style and attitude, the freedom and the easiness of the look instantly caught Dalood’s eye and made it so captivating to watch. Dalood wanted to create outfits that captured that spirit. Furthermore, the anarchic energy of the early 1980’s, specific shapes and silhouettes from Maka’s mother’s wardrobe of that time, such as broad-shoulder suits, tie-front pants, belted waists and oversized tweed coats, were a source of inspiration for this Autumn / Winter 2016 collection.

“To me style should never be pretentious or forced upon, it should be a genuine and an evolving motion that keeps transforming and maturing with time and is never static. Familiar shapes and forms may be reborn and return from time to time but they’re never the same. “ The founder and creative director Maka Kvitsiani believes that “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
