“It’s the clash of things that don’t go together at first sight that I’m interested in,“ says Dawid Tomaszewski only 30 minutes before his show starts at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.

As such, Tomaszewski cites the late 70’s/early 80’s Debbie Harry and Marrakech as sources of inspiration he merges for Spring / Summer 2017. It’s not that these two sources of inspiration have never been used before in fashion – and so Tomaszewski’s designs don’t have the moment of surprise you wished for in a new collection. However, not every collection needs to reinvent the wheel and certainly there is a customer for this summery and light-hearted collection where caftan meets fishnet. Above all, it follows the designer’s principles, his definition of luxury: perfection in cut and no compromise when it comes to fabrics. A treasure chest for lots of future favourite pieces.
