The presentation of Chester Barrie at this year’s LC:M Autumn/Winter 2016 was, as usual, a sophisticated event. The well-established Savile Row tailor didn’t fail to meet his quintessentially English ready-to-wear expectations. On top of the classic pieces he demonstrated how contemporary tailoring can rise above the traditional, with rich jewel tones of emerald or deep ruby and even a bold purple alongside the more predictable navy and black hues, as seen on the double-breasted wool coat with contrast collar. To fine-tune the modern gentleman look attention was given to pocket squares and ties – sharp details in the flurry of velvet and sumptuous weaves.
