Her first as a permanent member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Yiqing Yin’s Spring/Summer 2016 milestone collection was an act of collaboration: the first being with textile designer Coen Carstens, who worked on the laser-cut leather scales that appeared on the sleeves of a fox fur jacket; the second, with sculptor Bastien Carré, who created the finale number with LED lights and piano strings. Aside from these two collaborative showstoppers, Yin stayed true to her expertise as a draper, presenting long, draped jersey dresses of wool or silk alongside fur jackets and dresses for a collection that spoke highly of the commercial requests of the modern designer and the creative attributes of a talented couturier.
