Christopher Kane mentioned in interviews that the past year or so was difficult for him. This Spring / Summer collection is inspired by the word ‘crazy’. Perhaps his recent rollercoaster had something to do with it, but the outcome was phenomenal. Loud colours, colourful tassels, snakeskin, eccentric leather cutouts and scribbles of embroidery – the list goes on for the impeccable work of art. He managed to depict crazy in his clothes extremely well. The runway showcased cable ties rehabilitated into chokers, spray paint on the garments, laminated cutouts, streaks of mesh, prominent hearts and random zips and buttons. Christopher collaborated with an artist from Scotland who did an amazing job, and the two machinated very well. The ripped suits and biro scribbles on the clothes gave the collection a feel of silent mental disruption in an ever so stylish way. The collection showcased blazer dresses, embellished shirts and geometric shapes – something that has been seen a lot in most of the shows – and it is refreshing! Christopher mentions in an interview at his runway show, “This is a collection I will always remember,” and he talks enthusiastically about a specific piece shown on the runway. If you need some edge in your life, this is the collection you need to look at.
