Paris-based Wanda Nylon showcased 29 assertive and free-spirited looks for Autumn / Winter 2016. Known for constant research for innovative fabrics, the label introduces new ones for this season: a synthetical ‘playful fur’. This very resistant and ultra-smooth and comfortable to the skin fake fur is usually used for luxury teddy bears.

All skirts have deep slits, ensuring free, fast movement, while volumes are often loose and slightly oversized suggesting an urban sensuality and tough coolness, or very fitted for a sleek dynamic silhouette. Motocross references are mixed with 1980’s disco touches and wardrobe classics have been hacked: a padded racing jacket meets a fluid trench, a bomber becomes a bodysuit, hoodies are blended with open pinstripe shirts, collars of classical tees and shirts are extended in a bandana shape to be tied up in the back, thus covering neck and mouth. Large leather printed scarfs accentuate this city pirate attitude, thought for a strong, independent, feminine woman.

The brand has made a name for itself by elevating rainwear classics, giving them a contemporary spin and proposing statement silhouettes. This season, Wanda Nylon has collaborated with Maison Ernest to propose vinyl thigh-high boots available in red, black, white and burgundy, all coming with a white heel. Furthermore, a collaboration with Peter & May Walk brought up an exciting eyewear capsule.
