The explosion of colours that pervaded the top floor of the Freemason’s Hall was incredible and definitely therapeutic for those who already started missing the summer vibes. Ashley Isham‘s Spring/Summer collection 2017 brought back the cocktails and the inflatable pool flamingos, on which statuesque male and female models were sitting, wearing cutout pieces of beachwear, decorated with bright floral prints or golden embroidered geometrical drawings. Prints were definitely something Ashley Isham wanted to play with, as we all noticed from the appearance of the first model, who was wearing a jacket and a pair of shortsthat could hardly be distinguished as separated items. Flowers, as symbols of Spring, were endlessly present but every time in a different way. Metallic pink flowers on a cut-out elegant dress, embroidered silver roses to refine a smart, all-white look and pink water lilies to add a final oriental touch. A collection that touches many inspiring elements, without forgetting the final result must leave everyone speechless. Too much is never enough, therefore Isham decided to pair each look and developed a similar style for each male-girl model walking, probably considering the chance for us to be in company next summer wanting to try wearing matchy looks.
