Effeminate silhouettes juxtaposing European simplicity and Chinese cultural prints, LULU LIU‘s Autumn / Winter 2014 collection showcased at London Fashion Week is a direct response to the fashion house’s influential muse for the season, Empress Cixi, a powerful respective exposing democracy and foreign cultures to China. Muted pencil skirts and multi-layered shift dresses formed in structured wool had special attention to the back.

Following these came contrasting metaphysical dresses in mirrored oriental prints. Faux leather fringes of a veil structure, created by ready-to-wear make-up design studio Face Lace, accentuated the clean lined vs print collection. LULU LIU syncs effortless elegance with bold stature, and Chinese heritage with British culture for simultaneous sophistication.
