Bas Kosters Dash Column 33 How do i look

Bas Kosters ‘How Do I Look’

I was browsing the Internet and stumbled upon a post about Marilyn Monroe becoming the new face for Max Factor. Funny to choose a deceased person for a beauty campaign. Are they going to dig her up and paint her face? That would actually be a good stunt. Poor Marilyn, strange that she doesn’t have a say in this matter, maybe she doesn’t like Max Factor products, we will never know.

It leaves me with thoughts about the deceased. How long can we milk our icons and their appearance or work till it becomes a bit shameful? Fashion brands are bringing us Keith Haring collections. And labels of long-gone designers re-emerge on the catwalk. Does that leave space for a new generations of designers, artists, singers and movie stars? Or will Elvis Presley and Andy Warhol still be your competition? The other side of the story is that, next to making ambitious plans for your life, you can also make those for your afterlife. Which is actually a nice thought. I would like to be the face of Kellogg’s cornflakes in my after life, can we please arrange that? Thank you.
