In her Spring / Summer 2015 Malaikaraiss collection, the German designer Malaika Raiss has embraced a sleek and streamlined silhouette. She combined cleanly tailored, sober blouses and vests with shorts or tailored trousers, giving the austere silhouette a note of summery lightness and sensuality. Mules underlined the casual elegance of the collection. Transparency was the theme throughout the looks, meaning delicate exposure and demure sensuality.
The designer balanced the sober elegance and maturity of the collection with witty frivolous details such as a toucan print in black and white, or a jacket embellished with colourful rhinestones and pearls, sprinkled over the surface like sugar sprinkles over a cream cake. Transformation or hybridism was another theme of the collection that featured jackets and coats that can be transformed into a cape, and a cape cut into a dress. The colour palette consisted of snow white, blush pink, ivory and grey for lightness, and Bordeaux red, saturated orange and deep blue for contrasts. Like last season, the gorgeous Franzi Müller paraded some of the best looks of the collection.
