The Kennedy Museum and The Department Store of the West have collaborated to showcase an exhibition that launched on 12th January coinciding with Berlin Fashion Week titled ‘The Kennedys – Timeless Fashion Icons’. Even after 50 years, the fascination and love for John F. Kennedy and his beloved family remains intact. The classic, sophisticated influence the Kennedys had on the fashion industry is still prominent today.
The exhibition is made up of more then 60 vintage photographs taken by famous photographers such as Phil Stern, Orlando Suero and Steve Schapiro, who have shot stars like Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean and Al Pacino. Those unforgettable images of the first lady wearing a set of pearls, her pillbox hat and a monochromatic A-line little dress have turned her into one of the most distinguished and iconic women in fashion. Her influential style is an inspiration to many people today. Images, along with original pieces straight from the first family’s own wardrobe are the main focus of the exhibition. There are also rare newspaper issues and never seen before video footage on display.
