Somewhere in-between French chic and old Hollywood glam, that’s where Guido Maria Kretschmer‘s Spring / Summer 2014 collection was settled. The runway sprawled under a huge chandelier. With their waterwave updos the models all seemed to be divas.

A grand entrance is often a signal for a great collection. A model slowly moving up the runway while a French chanson is playing, an even better one. The collection mainly consisted of gowns, but combined with chic trouser-and-top combinations, it showed a range of posh eveningwear. Starting with monochrome black-and-white pieces, followed by nude shades, floral prints and turquoise garments, the presentation became more and more thrilling. The typic Hollywood diva would find everything her heart might desire in the dresses – ruching, glitter, sparkle. But what was most impressive was the one black gown that combined all these details and was worn with a 1920s inspired headpiece. Guido Maria Kretschmer acted upon his own credo: ‘Elegance is the last luxury of our days. It endows gazes of admiration.’
