Esther Perbandt splattered a retro-futuristic vibe across her Autumn/Winter 2016 offerings, where her deconstructionist aesthetics paired well with a uniform-inspired line-up. Combining traditional military fabrics with knits and leathers, asymmetrical hems and a plethora of straps and harnesses, this season played with a minimalist colour palette of black, winter white and grey plaid with androgynous silhouettes and a mixture of fluid yet structured shapes. The most memorable moment from the runway? When she sent out two models (male and female) wearing the same look – an elongated white shirt worn under black harness with black pants – showcasing precisely how gender-neutral her clothes can be.
