Genderless clothing has made an impression on this season’s designers, probably more than ever before, with Autumn/Winter 2016 collections presenting unisex options at London, Paris and especially New York City where Andre Landeros Michel’s label, Landeros New York, showcased high quality tailoring and strong outwear – for men and women.
Inspired by the lead singer of the Eighties pop band Visage, Steve Strange, Andre’s A/W 2016 collection could possibly be described as somewhere between a celebration of the era’s iconic London club scene and the very enthusiasm in which Strange ignored the restraints of gender-biased fashion. If not a tad toned down for modern consumers, Landeros New York certainly knows how to pay homage to a great talent while also demonstrating his own: the blue furs are a stand-out look from the collection, though the grey-scale separates allow a wearer to fully visual all the wardrobe compatibilities.
