Bucharest-based Romanian designer Carla Szabo’s AW13 collection of accessories explores beauty as the best form of communication and the most powerful engine for social transformation. The ‘Sur-Faces’ collection expresses the complementarity of human expression and social self-defense mechanisms. The hardness of black nickel and dense ebony wood represent a shield with multiple facets, combined with the softness and lightness of silk, giving birth to a wearable antithesis.
