Danish designer Henrik Vibskov is known for his expressly extraordinary garments and spectacular installations during his shows (for his Autumn / Winter 2012 collection, Vibskov showcased a huge drum machinery and for Spring / Summer 2013, he came up with an idea of a massive pink tongue with black dots).

For Autumn / Winter 2013, Vibskov took inspiration from the vast historical meanings of stiff necks (highlighted by the models’ headdresses completed with stiff wooden frames showing crane-like support). A significant accent was placed on the flamingo print, repeatin itself on men’s shirting, jackets and trousers and several accessory pieces, as well as playing an important role in the runway scenario (long black flamingo heads hanging from the ceiling).

Familiar silhouettes were integral, continuing the Vibskov vocabulary that has become the signature of his style. The collection itself, once again, featured a mix of print, pattern, structures, knit and woven fabrics with emphasis on chunky knits that emerged from Vibskov’s collaboration with Dale of Norway, a knit manufacturer with a long history.

By now hardly anyone will be surprised that the adjective “Vibskov” has been added to the fashion dictionary. Vibskov’s designs are definitely worthy of this social and cultural appreciation.
