Comme des Garçons is a heterogeneous fashion house creating conceptual aesthetics and branding itself as the alternative individualism of fashion – ‘anti-fashion’. Rei Kawakubo founded the pioneering label in 1969, making huge waves, constructing designs of the moment, evolving with times. Comme des Garçons’ campaigning is freely expressive, to mention the beautiful series of dove images which inspired their trademark of abstract shirts.

Autumn / Winter 2014 Homme staged a cult of models with moulded locks fluidly concealing their faces, featuring subversive tailoring, true to Comme de Garçons’ controversial ethos and conflicting design ideas, encapsulating a radical movement and the fear of the unknown.

Comme des Garçons SHIRT displayed that the brand’s evolutionary experimentation still remained with an exposed collection of a utilitarian palette with double cuffed sleeves, asymmetric buttoning, contemporary cross-patch, ruffles and illustrated print teamed with pared-down tailored drop crotch trousers and shorts.

Comme des Garçons are undeniably a brand which encapsulates contemporary and evolutionary conceptual culture, as opposed to simply being a label.
