When it comes to design, London College of Fashion‘s Rachel O’Mahony prefers to look to the past for inspiration. Her romantic, yet dynamic pieces are influenced by classical art, representation of past identities and womenswear of the 19th century. O’Mahony’s designs never look outdated though. The lens in which she recreates her feminine silhouettes are always utterly contemporary. Every piece of the collection is intricately handmade with an emphasis on craftsmanship techniques like beading, dip-dying and smocking. The designer has previously gained experienced at the likes of Céline, Burberry and Antonio Berardi and won awards such as the London College of Fashion ‘People’s Choice’ Awards in 2014.
