Not veering away from colours or patterns, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have graced Paris Fashion Week with a glorious take on Kenzo ‘gone rogue’. The Autumn / Winter 2015 collection was comprised of loose puffer coats, pleated dresses and what seemed to be a blanket worn in multiple ways; as a hooded scarf, vest, cape and coat. There were fur lined jackets to knitted ponchos, all evoking and emitting a vibrant and playful energy. The colours in green, yellow, orange, red, and burgundy brought a new tribal take on streetwear. Although exceedingly colourful and fun, the garments had a very tailored silhouette about them. After the show Leon told Dazed about where their inspiration came from, saying that it was based on women living in tribes protecting and nurturing each other, “a Kenzo woman might take a blanket and make it into a skirt or a jacket. It’s a celebration of that history.
