Torrid is the hot new take on fashion for women in sizes 10 to 30 and presented its first New York Fashion Week collection this September. Their revolution proves a bold new approach to the increased diversity within the fashion industry.
The Spring / Summer 2018 collection and show of Torrid was an emblem and mirage of the Torrid woman: bold, badass and beautiful and thus the looks featured a juxtaposition of soft and hard. Flowy chiffon dresses and blouses were paired with harsher leather corsages and moto jackets, showing the tenderness yet strength of a woman.
Hand-painted elements showed themselves as the signature to the brand and the collection. Natural features of the girls were enhanced and brought to attention wavy hair and beautiful contouring.
With their apparel Torrid wanted to show on a further note the different aspects of a woman, as no woman is just one thing, she is a mirage of an assembly of things.
