UNTTLD (pronounced untitled) is the brainchild of real-life couple José Manuel St-Jacques and Simon Bélanger. After studies in Montreal and Milan and a win on reality TV (on a competition similar to Project Runway), the duo launched their line to much acclaim in 2011. It was subsequently featured on Vogue Italia’s website, in Flare, Fashion and Elle.
As the name suggests, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what UNTTLD’s design aesthetic is. They usually create in black and white and work with luxurious materials such as leather, silk and organza. Apart from that, their ethos is to be unexplained, unpredictable, unclassified, unsuspected, uncoded, unbranded, unlabeled.
