Both a designer and illustrator, Edward Curtis’s expressionistic garments bind the body in dramatic sashes of colour. The tranquillity and naïve wonder of the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood inspired the London-based designer’s Spring / Summer 2014 collection in which he took fabrics and exploited them to their full potential in a youthful exploration of materiality. A graduate from the London College of Fashion’s Design and Technology Womenswear (BA) course, Curtis describes his aesthetic as a collision of maximalism and simplicity.
