This collection doesn’t need extraordinary prints or explanations. The quality of the textiles speaks for itself. Michael Sontag is a genius at draping clothes to flatter the female form. Airy materials make the looks appear light.

The designer doesn’t create his collections following a concept. He acts with intuition and coincidence, focusing on the body and the interaction between inside and outside. Soft cottons, silk and denim are draped on a dressmaker’s model. Swarovski crystals shine through plaits. The female body is the inspiration, providing the drop of the clothes. Bright colours like orange, yellow or blue go hand in hand with softer tones like white, grey and black. For Spring / Summer 2014 Michael Sontag robes women in feminine but sculptural garments that flatter the body.
