Realising that knit can be cool might be the best thing that could have happened to Leyla Piedayesh. The designer behind Lala Berlin started with knitwear, today it’s the mix of materials that makes the label’s clothing so special.

An industrial offside-location was the venue for the presentation of the Spring / Summer 2014 collection. The audience intently looked at the creations, which combined tropical elements with constructed cuts and feminine dresses with loose pieces. Straw hats worn with leather garments, knit cardigans over bathing suits or voluminous jackets with tight skirts – Lala Berlin impressed with strong looks.

The colour palette ranged from light shades like white and cream over pastels to neons and black. Since 2004, the label stands for urban chic, easygoing but feminine cuts and eccentric prints. At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin, Leyla Piedayesh again gave proof of her capability as one of Berlin’s strongest designers.
