Thursday night, 19th February, saw the private view of CH Talents: Visionaries, the Swiss contribution to the International Fashion Showcase (IFS) 2015, organised for the third year running by the Embassy of Switzerland in the UK in conjunction with DASH Magazine and, for the first time this year, Swiss fashion schools Doing Fashion Basel and HEAD Geneva. Both schools hand-picked four recent graduates from their impressive roster of alumni to exhibit their works as part of a multi-media format exhibition at London’s Display Gallery in competition against other countries competing in the IFS. The two-level venue hosts Doing Fashion’s designers WUETHRICHFUERST, Elisa Kaufmann, Eva Buehler and Marco Zwick on the ground floor with a blend of selected outfits and projections while HEAD’s Camille Buehler, Mikael Vilchez, Pia Farrugia and Magdalena Brozda take up the basement floor. In last night’s opening speech HE Dominik Furgler, Swiss Ambassador to the United Kingdom, remarked that, while it may not just yet be first and foremost know for its fashion, Switzerland is well on its way to establishing a firm positioning on the world’s fashion map. Exhibitions like CH Talents: Visionaries are contributing towards this and are testament to a rich and flourishing fashion landscape.
