Spring is the new autumn. At least if we go by the latest PPQ collection. The label’s AW13 show kicked off with acid brights in yellow, lime green and neon pink. The idea of colour-block landscapes was illustrated by a journey through the history of fashion starting in the 1950s and continuing all the way through the ‘80s and early ‘90s.

The biggest impression-making pieces were the dazzling graffiti-style dresses perfect for amusing cocktail parties. PPQ continues to elaborate its interest in the ‘90s aesthetic by showcasing bodycon dresses, stretch velvet and lycra fabrics.

Despite an explosion of colour, the standout item in this collection was the black and white classy coat reminiscent of smart American girls of the ’50s and ’60s. All told, this collection suggested that, even in its contemporariness, PPQ refers to the vintage glory in the long history of style.
