Meshit is the Austrian fashion label founded in 2009 by Ida Steixner and Lena Krampf. The designers’ signature is to experiment with contrasting approaches and cultural codes by clashing opposite aesthetics such as tight and oversized volumes or androgynous shapes and sensual fabrics. For Autumn / Winter 2013 we are seduced into the inspiration of the bizarre and minimalistic films of Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki, who focuses on workers, unemployed people and outsiders. Which is why Meshit involves denim, jackets and dungaree-style dresses encounter with classic-cut coats, trench coats, pleated trousers and sweaters made of knit. Zippers, patches, pocket details, fur and plush complete the look of these urban working class individuals.
