Lakmé Fashion Week – 15th Anniversary

On Wednesday, 18th March, Sabyasachi Mukherjee opened this year’s Lakmé Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2015 season at an offsite location at Mumbai’s Richardson & Cruddas. Lakmé Fashion Week is the biggest biannual fashion event in India, jointly organised by Lakmé, the No.1 cosmetics and beauty services brand in India and IMG Reliance, the global leader in sports and entertainment event marketing and management aiming to ‘redefine the future of fashion and integrate India into the global fashion world’.

This year, Lakmé Fashion Week celebrated its 15th anniversary at the Palladium Hotel – a 5-star hotel located in the centre of Mumbai’s most luxurious mall. To host the event it was transformed into the ultimate fashion destination, where the industry’s established native designers such as Manish Malhotra, Anamika Khanna, Sabyasachi as well as emerging designers including Farah Sanjana, Shift and Sailex presented their Summer / Resort 2015 collections. Amongst all the brilliant shows and gala events, Lakmé Fashion Week demonstrated a clear rise of creativity by showcasing quirky colourful collections by designers such as Quirk Box, Salitha Nanda ,Neha Agarwal, Verandah and Papa Don’t Preach, huge favourites with the younger crowds.

A spectacular finale by Anamika Khanna, as part of which one of Bollywood biggest stars Kareena Kapoor sashayed down the runway, brought this season to a grand close.
