It doesn’t come as a surprise that designer Robert Kalinkin started of his career by creating stage costumes and gowns for musicians. A rarity in the fashion industry, Kalinkin is a self-taught creator, and soon realized that ready-to-wear was the direction he wanted to move towards. “A contemporary collection that a strong, modern woman can wear right then and there – and feel powerful in it. It’s fierce luxury with a rebel attitude.” The designer not only has a stand-alone store in Lithuania but is also stocklisted in the US and China. The latest A/W 16 collection is inspired by the vastness of space. The focus is on outerwear and the collection utilizes shimmering black bead clusters that resemble stars. Although undeniably edgy, the clothes are still feminine in a current way.
