Inspired by the 1990 Asian Games in China, this season found designer Shangguan Zhe of Sankuanz reworking track pants, hoodies and jackets with fabrics such as velvet, intarsia and light nylon, all illuminated in whimsical technicolour. Illustrated with dragons, various imaginary creatures and the Asian Games’ cartoon mascot, PanPan, Zhe’s latest collection of often oversized styles played off of the sports uniforms worn by students in the Nineties and resulted in a collection balanced his streetwear aesthetics with more sartorial pieces.
