Haider Ackermann returned energy to an already gloomy Paris Men’s Fashion Week – in design and in weather. As the consistent rain let up long enough for the show to go on, he presented a poetic Spring/Summer 2017 collection complete with a parade of colour: a pink silk bomber jacket with canary yellow accents, mint green pants and a cobalt blue coat were all a part of this season’s new look. While Ackermann may have included a dandy take on the sportswear look with tracksuit stripes on pleated pants, embellished bomber jackets and silk shirts, his strength in tailoring and sartorial tendencies came out in true force and was more than enough to jumpstart a menswear label that had been questionable for quite a few seasons now.
