At the age of 19, Edmund Ooi was the youngest person to be awarded in the history of Malaysia Fashion Week. Five years later and with a supplementary degree from Antwerp’s prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts as well as a tenure at Thierry Mugler under Nicola Formichetti’s tutelage, Edmund Ooi’s eponymous menswear label is set for success. The designer’s work sees classic menswear staples deconstructed, reconstructed and finished with distinctively unique coatings and layers.
