For Spring / Summer 2014, Bernard Chandran got down and discoed. His metallic collection of dresses, jumpsuits and short two-pieces cut a futuristic dash with the Malaysian designer’s unusual cuts. Known in Malaysia as ‘The King of Fashion’ and counting the Malaysian Royal Family among his throng of admirers, Chandran knows a thing or two about royalty.

And so he introduced to the world his new urban party queens, complete with modern, abstract tiaras. Shimmering pieces included mini skater dressers with flaring skirts, flirty, peekaboo cut-out dresses and jumpsuits which encapsulated 1970s glamour.

The pièce de résistance of the collection was a glistening silver evening gown with thigh-high split and bejewelled traps, complete with extravagant tiara and, of course, a personal iPod.
