Mariana Jungmann’s latest collection for Autumn / Winter 2015  is called ‘Hypnagogic’, which describes the state between being awake and being asleep. This is explored through the juxtaposition of sharply tailored, treated leather and soft trapeze shapes. She talks about how this collection is about women, about how a woman in general is full of paradoxes. A woman is tough (leather and structured cuts), however, she is also delicate (lace and silk).

Mariana uses renaissance lace, which is handcrafted for each piece, thus giving off a haute-couture aesthetic, for each garment is one of a kind. She also introduced new techniques in dealing with leather, blistering it in order to make it more textured, and she also depressed it; a reverse embossing method for softer imprints on leather.

The tailored lines, feminine cuts give off an androgynous feel with the subtle and muted tones and hues, comprised of teal, grey and black, evoking a dream-like state of mind. The cashmere, merino wool, silk and lambskin all come together to create a beautiful collection.
