Design duo Annelie Augustin and Odély Teboul show their collection for Spring / Summer 2017 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.

In general, there is not much conceptual subtext to Augustin Teboul’s collections. They find inspiration in something and then they go off and simply do their thing. Beads, sequins and crochet are their trademark techniques, all crafted by hand in their studio. Another one of their trademarks used to be the exclusive use of black. Until a couple of seasons ago, this was the only colour the designers would use. But then, they started with nude. Then white. And now – red!

For me, the red catsuit reflects the label’s spirit as well as this particular collection. Cool, edgy, kinda French (one half of the design duo is German, the other half French). Although red, it still screams ‘I am an Augustin Teboul’! The colour merely functions as an exclamation mark.
