    My Heart

Portuguese artist Tamara Alves pursues a multi-disciplinary approach involving painting, illustration, installation and graffiti. After studies in art and multimedia, she took part in several solo and group exhibitions in a dozen countries including Brazil, Japan and the UK. Her work has been featured in numerous publications such as Juxtapoz, Time Out Porto, Le Monde Diplomatique as well as the current SS14 issue of DASH. Her illustrations have a slightly macabre quality, thanks to the hearts, skulls and skeletons she often includes. She also seeks inspiration in nature, adding wings, branches and animals to many of her collages.
